📖Mon avis sans spoiler et sans paraphraser le résumé : 🩷🩷 Énorme coup de coeur pour ce roman !! 🩷🩷 

Je ne connaissais pas du tout cette autrice, mais elle vient de rejoindre la shortlist des autrices dont je me procurerai les romans les yeux fermés ! 

J’ai tout aimé ! TOUT ! L’histoire, l’écriture, les deux personnages principaux, les perso secondaires. Tout je vous dis !!

Et l’humour !!! Mais ça faisait bien longtemps que je n’avais pas ri comme ça en lisant, ni trouvé de romans avec cet humour franc et léger. Et ça fait du bien. C’est une bouffée d’air frais !!

Au début, j’ai eu une crainte parce que je me suis rendue compte du trope grumpy x sunshine, donc le monsieur grognon face à la femme totalement solaire et enjouée malgré les aléas de sa vie, mais honnêtement, ça a été brillamment mené de A à Z par l’autrice.

Le thème sur le boss est vraiment bien exploité, jusqu’ici pour moi c’était Whitney G la reine du trope boss/employée, mais je découvre que d’autres autrices gèrent ça impeccablement aussi.

J’ai juste adoré Taylor et son humour à toute épreuve, elle est entière, franche, droite, sincère, honnête. Elle se retrouve à devoir travailler sur un chantier : seule femme au milieu d’hommes. C’est une superbe jeune femme, mais l’autrice n’est pas tombée dans ce travers où l’héroïne fait baver tout le monde, et heureusement parce que c’est un truc qui me fait tiquer à chaque fois. 

J’ai aimé la façon dont elle bouscule son boss, Ethan, au coeur de glace, mais pas trop non plus 😛

Elle a aussi une vraie sensibilité et surtout une vie difficile. Elle se dévoue entièrement aux besoins de sa famille. C’est une battante.

Et Ethan, mais quel homme ! Un peu bourru, un peu bougon, un peu borné (un peu beaucoup d’ailleurs), mais quand il ouvre les yeux, quand il cède, quand il brise la glace, pfiouuuuuuuu explosioooon, coeur guimauve, pas de mots. Bookboyfriend de choix ! J’avais chaud aux joues et ça n’arrive pas souvent !

Et puis la plume !!! Je n’arrivais pas à m’arrêter de lire, je ne voulais pas arrêter. C’était parfait ! Dynamique, drôle et tendre quand il le fallait.

Et enfin parlons du Slow-burn de foliiiie : parfait, parfait, parfait !!!

Je veux tout lire de Madame R.S. Grey ! Merci pour ce roman, merci pour mon coeur et merci pour ma tête. 🩷

🩷🩷 I absolutely loved this novel!! 🩷🩷
I didn’t know anything about this author, but she has just joined the shortlist of authors whose novels I will buy without hesitation!
I loved everything about it! EVERYTHING! The story, the writing, the two main characters, the secondary characters. Everything, I tell you!
And the humor !!! It had been a long time since I had laughed so much while reading, or found novels with such frank and lighthearted humor. And it feels good. It’s a breath of fresh air!!
At first, I was a little worried because I realized it was the grumpy x sunshine trope, with the grumpy man opposite the woman who is totally sunny and cheerful despite the ups and downs of her life, but honestly, it was brilliantly executed from start to finish by the author.
The boss theme is really well done. Until now, Whitney G was the queen of the boss/employee trope for me, but I’m discovering that other authors handle it impeccably as well.
I just loved Taylor and her unfailing humor. She is wholehearted, frank, upright, sincere, and honest. She finds herself having to work on a construction site: the only woman among men. She’s a gorgeous young woman, but the author hasn’t fallen into the trap of making the heroine the object of everyone’s desire, which is a good thing because that’s something that always bugs me.

I liked the way she pushes her boss, Ethan, who has a heart of ice, but not too much either 😛.
She also has real sensitivity and, above all, a difficult life. She devotes herself entirely to her family’s needs. She’s a fighter.
And Ethan, what a man! A little gruff, a little grumpy, a little stubborn (actually, a lot), but when he opens his eyes, when he gives in, when he breaks the ice, phew, explosion, marshmallow heart, no words. Book boyfriend of choice! My cheeks were hot, and that doesn’t happen often!
And then the writing!!! I couldn’t stop reading, I didn’t want to stop. It was perfect! Dynamic, funny, and tender when it needed to be.
And finally, let’s talk about the crazy slow burn: perfect, perfect, perfect!!!
I want to read everything by R.S. Grey! Thank you for this novel, thank you for my heart, and thank you for my head. 🩷
