I love Whitney G so much that I can pick up any of her novels without even needing to read the synopsis.
With One Night and Nothing More, the author delivers, as she always does, plenty of steamy moments. If you donât like romances packed with spice and smut, this one isnât for you.
Here, we have Andrewâclearly a red flag, totally off-putting at first, but who mellows out by the end, or almost. Andrew is a character who seems as clear as crystal on the surface, but who is ultimately very complex and tortured. The tortured hero seems like a clichĂ©, but I think Andrew is the perfect definition of it, because his past is heavy, painful, and dramatic, and has left deep scars on his life and his heart, impacting all his choices and decisions.
So, despite his brilliant career as a lawyer, his favorite pastime is women, but he takes them and discards them, with clear rules. Letâs not kid ourselvesâheâs a real player, and if you donât like that sort of thing, donât go messing with Andrew.
As for me, Iâve decided that I like âduck menââbut only in romance novels. You just have to keep things in perspective: in real life, keep them at armâs lengthâthey donât deserve you.
Opposite Andrew is Aubrey/Alyssa, a strong-willed woman, but one weakened by selfish, self-centered parents who couldnât care less about what she wants or her dreams.
The lighthearted banter with Andrew sets the pace for her days.
But soon, things will pick up speed, and Iâll let you discover how.
The dialogue is spot-onâitâs a MASTERCLASS!!! The jabs, the comebacksâI absolutely loved them.
Itâs hot, hot, hot scorching! Make sure you have a fan and a spare pair of underwear handy.
Whitney Gâs writing is, as always, incredibly effective, and the mysteries and intrigue surrounding Andrew broke my heart.
Thank you, Whitney, for these stories that make us feel so good!
